We carry two of the most recognized mattress brands in the industry — Beautyrest and Serta — both of which have invested heavily in advanced cooling technologies. Why cooling technology matters
Temperature regulation plays a critical role in sleep quality. When body heat becomes trapped in mattresses, it leads to restlessness, night sweats, and disrupted sleep cycles. Memory foam, when it was first introduced, was excellent for pressure relief, however it was known for retaining heat. In response, manufacturers like Beautyrest and Serta have developed innovative materials and construction methods that actively dissipate heat and improve airflow.
Serta cooling technologies
Serta, particularly through its iComfort line, focuses on combining breathable materials with heat-dissipating foams. One of its most notable features is the CoolFeel™ fabric, which is a cover material designed to feel cool immediately upon contact while also promoting airflow.
Another pivotal innovation is graphite- or gel-infused memory foam. These materials draw heat away from the body and disperse it across the mattress surface.
Serta also incorporates technologies like TempActiv™ gel memory foam and EverCool® Fuze Gel Foam, which are both designed to absorb and dissipate body heat while remaining breathable.
Phase-change materials are sometimes used in Serta mattress covers as well. Remarkably, these materials regulate temperature by absorbing excess heat when the body is warm, and then releasing it when temperatures drop. This helps maintain a consistent sleep environment.

Beautyrest cooling technologies
Beautyrest combines advanced fabrics, specialized foams, and airflow-enhancing construction to create cool-to-the-touch surfaces and maintain a neutral temperature throughout the night.
In premium models like the Beautyrest Black series, cooling is taken even further with BlackICE™ technology. This system incorporates phase-change materials similar to Serta, and uses breathable fabrics and heat-conducting components to actively pull heat away from the body. Some models also include silver-infused fibers and open-weave quilt layers that enhance airflow and regulate temperature more efficiently.
Another notable innovation is the use of diamond or carbon-infused memory foam. Highly conductive, these materials can transfer heat away faster than traditional foams.
In addition, Beautyrest’s DualCool™ fiber and AirCool® foam technologies can be found in select models. These features are designed to wick away moisture and promote ventilation, ensuring that heat and humidity do not become trapped near the sleep surface.
